Managing Complex Uniform Fittings for Large Teams

Coordinating uniform fittings for large teams with varying schedules can be a challenging task. At Hanover Uniform, we’ve developed an efficient process to ensure fittings are smooth, organized, and accurate—even when accommodating employees working different shifts. Here are our best practices for managing complex uniform fittings:

1. Plan for the Bulk of Employees During Swing Shifts

To maximize efficiency, we recommend scheduling the bulk of your team (around 80%) for fittings during swing shift times. This often covers employees working both day and night shifts, making it easier to consolidate the majority of fittings in one or two organized sessions. By centralizing this effort, you minimize disruptions to daily operations while still ensuring most employees are properly sized.

2. Utilize a Try-On System for Remaining Employees

For employees who are unable to attend the primary fitting sessions, we suggest leaving sample uniforms available for try-on. These try-on garments should be clearly labeled and accompanied by sizing forms that employees can fill out after determining their best fit. This allows for greater flexibility without compromising accuracy.

3. Create an Organized Fitting Area

To keep the process running smoothly, consider the following setup:

  • Tables for Display: Lay garments out on tables by item type and size for easy access.

  • Changing Rooms Nearby: Position fitting rooms close to the tables for convenience and privacy.

  • Dedicated Staff Roles: Have at least one person stationed to distribute garments and one person dedicated to recording employee sizes. This division of duties ensures accurate documentation and prevents bottlenecks.

4. Communicate with Employees in Advance

Provide clear instructions on the fitting schedule, what employees should expect, and what information they need to provide. This preparation reduces confusion and ensures a smoother experience for everyone involved.

5. Follow Up for Accuracy

After the fittings are complete, it’s helpful to review the recorded sizes and address any discrepancies. This final step ensures your uniform orders are accurate, reducing the risk of delays or exchanges.

By following these steps, your team can confidently manage even the most complex uniform fittings with ease. Our goal is to make the process as efficient and accurate as possible so your employees are comfortable and equipped to perform their roles effectively.
